This is a tough choice! I'm a morning person by nature and love my early morning run. Obviously early daylight is best for that. But if you've ever run a long ultra, there is magic in running through a cold dark night only to be greeted and re-energized by a 6am sunrise. It makes the night time struggles seem worthwhile and I am worried about losing that in a 4am pre-dawn.

Morning, no doubt. I start my runs at 5:30 a.m. every day and always feel cheated when daylight savings time begins and the light I had mid-run is taken away!

Holy crap, I cannot emphasize enough the game-changer that is seeing the sun after work. Few things sucked as bad as going 9-5, then by the time you roll into the driveway, it's pitch black. My mood this week has benefited so much by the extra hour of daylight I experience.

I prefer evening light, mostly running after work. Taking running out of the consideration, more light in evening also allows more opportunities for other activities, bike, simply enjoying the park/ picnic to decompress after a long day of work or even just do errands. I also feel safer going home after work when it’s not pitch black.

Evening; I dislike morning workouts whether they're before dawn or not. Evening light makes it more likely that I'll get outside after work.

I prefer more evening light hours! I run early mornings April trough November to avoid the Texas heat and I really do not mind running with a head lamp. I also bike, typically after work and that is when the extra hours of daylight help.

I am up and ready to run most mornings by 5am so that daylight isn't there either way but if I'm running in the evening I'd prefer the light to be there.

More evening light would be my choice. 11 years of running- hopefully many more enjoyable years for you (Hollie). May will mark 11 years of running for me as well. Continue to be injury free would be my top goal. Keep feet in good and healthy condition would be of great value to any runner. Not sure why my running shoes are wearing out between 300-400 miles while other runners are getting 2,000-5,000 miles on a pair of shoes!

Morning light for sure.

This may be the issue I'm most passionate about 😃 I've told friends that if I ever ran for President, this would be the one issue I'd run on. I like more morning light right now in my life, b/c we were just having sunrise when we put our son on the school bus, and then the time change took that away so it's dark again when we go out with him in the mornings. I'm really to the point where, whichever one we're on, let's just stick with that and go with the natural ebb and flow of sunlight throughout the year. (I'd stick with standard time.) But, who knows?
